Security Bank Scholarship program is now open to apply for eligible college students for the school year 2024-2025. The Security Bank Foundation is calling in applications from interested college students to apply for its Security Bank Foundation College Scholarship program.

Security Bank Foundation College Scholarship

The Security Bank Foundation Inc., (SBFI) is the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the Security Bank in the Philippines. Security Bank strives to support the education of deserving college students by providing them educational assistance.

In recent post on Facebook, Security Bank has announced the opening of online application for its college scholarship program and has called in applications for the same. This college scholarship will provide educational assistance to deserving students who enroll in to courses directly supporting the banking operations.

Scholarship Benefits

Following is the list of benefits a scholar is entitled to under Security Bank College Scholarship program:

Monetary Benefits

The monetary benefits a college student will receive under this scholarship program are as follows:

State Universities

  • Stipend of Php 25,000 per half-semester or Php 100,000 per year where scholar gets the stipend directly from the school
  • Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees – No allotment due to “Free Tuition Law”

Private Universities

  • Stipend of Php 12,500 per half-semester or Php 50,000 per year where scholar gets the stipend directly from the school
  • Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees – Maximum of Php 100,000 per year

Non-Monetary Scholarship Benefits

Along with financial assistance, the Security Bank Foundation also extends developmental activities by providing following opportunities to the scholars:

  • Internships,
  • Involvement in corporate social responsibility activities, and
  • Attendance to learning sessions provided by partner institutions.

NOTE: The financial assistance will be released subject to the maximum amount per year and based on the actual period during which the classes are conducted and ongoing.

Who can apply for Security Bank Scholarship

College students pursuing education in State Universities and Private Universities are eligible to apply for the Security Bank Scholarship program.

Qualifications for Scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications required to be eligible to apply for this scholarship:

  • The applicant must be a graduating Grade 12 student from public/private school
  • Must have latest General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 90% or its equivalent
  • No parent currently employed/assigned in Security Bank
  • No other family member currently admitted to the scholarship within second degree of consanguinity or affinity
  • No other existing scholarship except for discounts provided by schools
  • The student must enroll in any of the 8 partner schools in NCR

List of Partner Schools

The Security Bank Scholarship is funded by SBFI while partner schools help in the screening and selection of applicants, disbursing the scholarship benefits, and monitoring the performance of the scholars.

Following is the list of 8 partner schools of Security Bank Foundation:

  1. Ateneo De Manila University
  2. Chiang Kai Shek College
  3. De La Salle University – Manila
  4. Far Eastern University – Manila
  5. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
  6. Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila
  7. University of the Philippines – Diliman
  8. University of Santo Tomas – Manila

Priority Courses for Scholarship

As per the official scholarship program guidelines, slots shall be offered to college students taking up the following priority courses directly supporting bank operations including:

  1. Accountancy
  2. Accounting Information System / Technology
  3. Internal Auditing
  4. Marketing
  5. Financial Management
  6. Industrial Engineering
  7. Management Engineering
  8. Applied Mathematics
  9. Business Analytics / Statistics
  10. Data Science
  11. Computer Science / Technology
  12. Information Systems / Technology

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required while applying for Security Bank College Scholarship program:

a. For Application purpose:

  • A Duly accomplished Online Application Form
  • Latest Grade 12 Report Card with Final General Weighted Average (up to latest available quarter grading, if no final GWA)
  • Latest Parent/Guardian’s Income Tax Return (for employed) / Certificate of Indigency (for unemployed) / Copy of OFW Employment Contract with Compensation
  • Proof of Admission / Acceptance Letter from any of the 8 Partner Schools
  • Birth Certificate of Scholar
  • Portrait Photo of Scholar

b. Upon admission to the scholarship program:

  • A Certificate of Enrollment / Registration Card for A.Y. 2024-2025
  • Copy of school calendar for A.Y. 2024-2025
  • Copy of School Grading System (if the school does not use percentage [%] for grading)
  • A Copy of Course/Program curriculum
  • Copy of Parent/Guardian’s Government Issued ID (for notary)

Scholarship Application Period

The opening of online application for Security Bank Scholarship starts on June 3, 2024.

The deadline date to submit online application for Security Bank College Scholarship is June 30, 2024.
