OWWA Scholarship 2024-2025 Online Application

OWWA Scholarship 2024 program is open to apply for all eligible college students in the Philippines. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – popularly known as OWWA has announced the opening of Online Application for its scholarship program for the school year 2024-2025.

OWWA Scholarship 2024

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is popularly known as OWWA in the Philippines. OWWA is responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of Filipino workers who are employed abroad and their dependents in the Philippines. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration offers a variety of insurance options, educational opportunities, and scholarship opportunities for OWWA members and their dependents and this scholarship program is one among those programs.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – OWWA is calling in applications from all interested and eligible applicants to apply for the OWWA Scholarship programs for the school year 2024-2025.

Following is the list of college scholarships offered by OWWA:

  1. ODSP – OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program
  2. EDSP – OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program
  3. CMWSP – Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program

Benefits of OWWA Scholarship

Following is the list of benefits a scholar will receive under OWWA Scholarship program

OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)

The OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship program is open to apply for the dependents of active OWWA members who are enrolled or planning to enroll in any 4-year or 5-year baccalaureate course at any college or university. Any OFW dependent who is currently a OWWA member may can apply for this scholarship.

Scholars will receive a Financial assistance of ₱20,000.00 per school year as scholarship benefits under OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program.

Qualifications for ODSP Scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications required to apply for ODSP Scholarship program:

For First year Incoming College Freshmen

  • Applicant must be a child or sibling of a single active OWWA member
  • The applicant must be Single and not more than 21 years old
  • He or She must be Grade 11 graduate and enrolled as Grade 12
  • Must have a passing GWA – General Weighted Average

For Students already enrolled in 2nd year to 5th year in College

  • The applicant must be a child or sibling of a single active OWWA member
  • The applicant must be Single and not more than 30 years old
  • He or She must be enrolled in a Philippine based College / University
  • Must have a passing GWA – General Weighted Average

All interested Applicants who meet the above given qualifications and have a monthly family income not more than USD 600.00 or its equivalent can apply for this scholarship program.

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for OWWA ODSP Scholarship is as follows:

  1. OFW Membership Record issued by OWWA RWO
  2. Government Issued or Company Issued I.D – 2 pcs. I.D. Picture with name tag
  3. At least one (1) valid I.D. of the OFW and/or the Authorized Representative issued by Government or Company Issued I.D.
  4. Proof of Relationship to OFW Member:
    • Birth Certificate from PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) or LCR (Local Civil Registrar)
    • OFW Birth Certificate, if dependent is sibling
    • OFW Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR, if single)
    • Dependent’s Birth Certificate
  5. Dependent’s Form 137 / Certified True Copy of Form 138 / Transcript of Records (TOR) indicating 80% GWA without failing grades issued by issued by School Registrar
  6. Certificate of Good Moral Character issued by School Registrar or Authorized School Officer/Faculty
  7. Medical Certificate i.e. Physically Fit to attend school if student has a medical pre-condition/s issued by any competent Medical Practitioner from public or private medical institution/facility
  8. Proof of OFW Income i.e. OEC, pay slip, Employment Certificate stating income, or any legitimate proof of OFW income/employment)

Education for Development Scholarship Program – OWWA EDSP

The OWWA EDSP Scholarship is provided to the qualified beneficiaries/dependents of OWWA Members who belong to the top examinees of the OWWA pre-qualifying examination who intend to enroll in chosen baccalaureate course in any college/university within the Philippines. This qualifying examination is administered by Department of Science and Technology Science and Education Institute (DOST-SEI) .

Scholars will receive a Financial assistance of ₱60,000.00 per school year as scholarship benefits under OWWA EDSP Scholarship Program.

Qualifications for EDSP Scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications required to apply for EDSP Scholarship program:

For First year Incoming College Freshmen

  • Applicant must be a child or sibling of a single active OWWA member
  • The applicant must be Single and not more than 21 years old
  • He or She must be Grade 11 graduate and enrolled as Grade 12
  • Must have a passing GWA – General Weighted Average of 80% or its equivalent

For Students already enrolled in 2nd year to 5th year in College

  • The applicant must be a child or sibling of a single active OWWA member
  • The applicant must be Single and not more than 30 years old
  • He or She must enroll in a Philippine based College / University with no failing grades.
  • Must have a passing GWA – General Weighted Average of 85% or its equivalent

Documentary Requirements

To apply for OWWA EDSP Scholarship, an applicant must submit academic of grade 11 in ANY of the following official documentary form:

  • Form 137;
  • Form 138; or
  • Transcript of records

Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)

The OWWA CMWSP Scholarship – Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program is a program extended to deserving migrant workers and/or their immediate descendants who intend to pursue 4-5 years baccalaureate course in the priority fields in Science and Technology.

The CMWSP provides a financial assistance with a maximum of ₱60,000.00 per school year until the completion of their course in any college/universities within the Philippines.

Qualifications for CMWSP Scholarship

The qualifications required to apply for Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) are as follows :

  • Applicants can be deserving Migrant Workers (active OFWs) who are not more than 45 years old.
  • He or She must be the Children of active OFWs who are below 21 years old.
  • He or She must be a should have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% without failing grades or within 20% of graduating class for children of OFW and no failing grades if OFW.
  • The applicant must have Annual Family gross income of $2,400.00 – ₱76,000.00*.
  • Alternative Learning System passers under the Continuing Education Program – Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) with an average of at least 85% or its equivalent as certified the DepEd Accredited Schools.

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for OWWA CMWSP Scholarship is as follows:

  • OFW Passport I.D.
  • 2×2 ID pictures
  • Birth Certificate authenticated by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) / Local Civil Registrar (LCR)
  • Form 137/ Certified true copy of Form 138/ Transcript of Records (TOR)
  • Any Proof of Family Income i.e. (Income Tax Return, Pay Slip, Overseas Employment Contract (OEC), and others as applicable

Application Timeline

The online application for OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program starts in the month of July and ends in August-September.

The online application for OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) starts in the month of November and ends in January.
